Higher Order Strategy was founded in 2019.
With 20 years of international experience across corporate and non-profit contexts, I bring strengths in project leadership, facilitation and global community building. I enjoy working with a wide array of companies in different industries, as well as non-profit initiatives to develop purpose-led business foundations that align with planetary and social boundaries.
I am particularly interested in how governance, ownership and decision-making structures can evolve to drive resilience, equality and perpetual positive impact.
I believe capitalist business motives, whilst having created much beneficial innovation and advancements, have drifted too far towards individual gain and the concentration of power and wealth. that is now having wide detrimental effects on society and ecosystems.
I work with courageous future-fit economy initiatives, leaders and groups, to explore and create resilient, purposeful business models and sustainability strategies that ultimately serve a post-growth and stakeholder economy paradigm. Many of my activities centre around collective learning and group empowerment.
There is no better place than the great outdoors, and I am always exploring new ways of taking strategy workshops out into nature with my clients.
Let's get moving!
Do we share the same values?
Honesty
Change can be uncomfortable, yet we don’t shy away from tough conversations. We believe in speaking truth to power to enable change. We seek to create spaces for open, compassionate dialogue.
Humbleness
The ability to say ‘I don’t know, (but am curious who does)’ is wisdom, not weakness. Appreciating that answers are found as a collective, egos are something to be kept in check.
Sufficiency
Embracing ‘enough’ is key to a balanced transition. Rather than endless growth, we are curious about the liberation that comes with understanding what is sufficient
Integrity
Actions speak louder than words. They are an expression of who we are. We act in alignment and are content with how we show up.
Empathy
We believe emotional intelligence and caring cultures are needed more than ever. We need to move from a ‘them & us’ mentality, to ‘we together’
Collaboration
We are stronger together. The potential of aligned collaboration is endless!
Philosophy
On this one shared planet, the crises we collectively face need to be navigated with a new type of leadership.
Those who see boundaries not as limitations, but as healthy guardrails in which life can thrive.
Now is the time to rebalance – curb the increasing concentration of wealth, power & ownership.
We need to think bigger, reconnect with our intuition of what is fundamentally right for the wider world, let go of individualism & ego to embrace partnerships that lead to greater unity and equality.
To consciously lead change that benefits others, we must first start with ourselves. I live by the following responsible leadership philosophy:
Breathe: to really grasp a situation, we must first pause & observe to gain awareness of what we are confronted with. Stop, reflect, ... and only then start to act.
Connect: we are social beings, we survive and thrive as communities. At the end of it all, it is the connections and collaborations that make life rich & rewarding. We choose to move together and strive to leave none behind.
Lead: in every individual, regardless of age, location, or skill-set, is the ability to inspire change and take meaningful action. Leadership starts with the actions and habits of one's self before rolling out into those around us.
